March marks the opening of our new and (hopefully) permanent location:
Located at 9727 Coppertop Loop, Suite 202 in Sportsman’s Park Business Center on Bainbridge Island. We are set up for instruction, coaching, on-tape work, and the same old fun we’ve been having. We provide rides from the nearby ferry for those walking over from Seattle.
Use this site to gain information on classes, coaching, and upcoming performances. Classes range from Acting & Scene Study (using the basics of the Chubbuck Technique), Improvisation, On-Camera Technique, Auditioning, Monologues, and more. We often have industry professionals and various experienced coaches joining us as well, so check back often. Out of town? I am available for private coaching, on-set coaching, and coaching via Skype as well! Our goal is to offer experienced and professional instruction to those in the acting profession as well as those looking for confidence and speaking skills in whatever walk of life they may be.
Please check the calendar for current and upcoming classes and if you aren’t getting information already, join my email list for updates by clicking “Contact Me” on the left of the screen.
Hopefully I will see you on-stage, behind-the-scenes, or in class sometime soon!
-Chris Soldevilla
WHAT’S NEW? (updated March 7th, 2012) :
***ADULT IMPROV: Tuesday and/or Thursday, 7-9 pm, $35/class for 5 classes, starting March 20th/22nd respectively
This is open to new and on-going students. March’s class will be one night a week for five weeks. This is a structured approach to learning improv with emphasis on comfort and fun. No experience necessary. I promise! Step outside your comfort zone!
***TEEN IMPROV & YOUTH IMPROV: Potential days: Tuesday or Thursday, 4-5:30, $30/class, starting on March 20th or 22nd respectively
Same as above, but for youth and teens (ages 10-17, with classes trying to match age levels based on attendance). I am rebuilding this class since many of the long term students I had have since graduated and grown up on me
As I take names for this class, I will solidify dates based on what works for the majority.
***ON-GOING SCENE STUDY/ACTING TECHNIQUE: 1 or 2 Monday nights a month, 7-9pm, $40/class; March’s Class will be Monday, March 19th (April’s Class will currently be on Monday, April 16th)
The popular Seattle class is moving to the island! (There is a discount to those coming from Seattle to off-set the ferry charge, making class $35 for Settle students) This is an ongoing class for all levels. Class space is limited to ensure everyone gets to work. Scenes and partners are given out in advance. Scenes and space are given on first come basis. Instruction is based on the Chubbuck Technique and mirrors exactly the approach I use to work and coach on set.
ALSO ON THE HORIZON: (GET ON THE LIST NOW!)
***SUMMER SEMINAR: INTRO TO ACTING FOR TEENS: Finally, as promised, this will be a weekend seminar in June or July, date to be determined to give teens who are interested in acting a well-rounded introduction to action as far as audition technique, improvisation, scene study, and the fundamentals of what to expect and prepare for in a career of acting.
***MONOLOGUE WORKSHOP: Proposed for Monday, March 26th, 7-9pm, $40
Limited space to allow for individual attention. Bring in your monologue to actively work it in front of a class of those doing the same. Much cheaper than a private monologue session, this will allow participants to polish a monologue and leave with an audition-ready monologue in their pocket. This is an on-going offering, so get on the list and I will offer when I have enough for an evening’s session
***ACTING: A TOTAL APPROACH SEMINAR w/ Dinah Manoff, Chris Soldevilla, and Q/A w/Elizabeth Mitchell
Currently this seminar is in development for a summer offering. More information on this unique and extremely valuable opportunity to come. A wait list has already begun for this class. Please ask to be on it to be among the first to claim a spot. This is an incredible opportunity for any actor looking to gain a variety of experience and insight from fantastic teachers and professionals!!!
***ON-CAMERA TECHNIQUE
Available this summer, this is a class for tailoring your acting toward on-camera work. Participants will be taped and work towards fine tuning stage acting techniques to fit the confines of the screen. More information as time nears.
